Women's chamber choir of Batumi
History
Women's chamber choir was founded in 1996 year in Batumi, Georgia. Emeritus Artist of Adjara and Doctor of musical Arts - Zaira Vadachkoria is director of the choir. Chief conductor is Gela Vadachkoria- also emeritus Artist of Adjara. Women's chamber choir is multiple winner of international choir competitions, owns medals, diplomas and international certification. It was awarded for the best performance of polyphonic music in the city of Varna in 1997 by the International Choir Competition named A. Dimitrov and 1998 in Ankara at the second international choir competition. The choir takes an active part in all the festivals and forums, which are held in Georgia. In year of 2012, the women's chamber Choir took part at the international festival from Easter to Ascension, named of Georgian-Jewish composer Joseph Bardanashvili, in his copyright concert. The repertoire of the choir includes works by Georgian classics, as well as works by contemporary composers and masterpieces of the world of choral music. The main feature of the performing choir is an original interpretation of the execution of music works.
In 1-9 July 2013 - Women Chamber Choir participated in the International Festival of Song and Dance in Latvia, Riga.
Purpose - of women's chamber choir is to contribute to the promotion and development of classical music in Batumi and across the country. Popularization of Georgian professional music and performing around the world stays as important objective of the ensemble.
